What works, what we have measured, and what still needs fixing.
What we have built in
A skip link that appears first when you press Tab. Visible focus rings on every interactive element. Touch targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels. Every photograph has a written description. Headings run in order, so a screen reader can navigate by them. The carousel announces “slide 2 of 3” when you change it by keyboard, swipe or button — but never while it moves on its own.
Text you can actually read
Body text is at least 4.5 to 1 against its background, measured rather than assumed: 14.9 in the light theme and 16.2 in the dark one. Price tables are 16.1 and 14.8. Buttons are 8.0 and 6.4.
Motion and flashing
If your device asks for reduced motion, every animation and transition on this site is switched off and the carousel stops moving by itself. Nothing on this site flashes.
Amharic and English
The site works in both, and the Amharic is set in a proper Ethiopic typeface rather than falling back to whatever the device happens to have. Screen readers are told which language is on screen when you switch.
What we have NOT done
We have not had an outside accessibility audit, so we do not claim formal conformance with WCAG. We know two weak spots: the small gold Amharic accents on the cream background sit close to the contrast floor, and the photo upload depends on your browser's own file picker, which no website can control. Text at the smallest size is fine, but not generous.

If any part of this site is unusable for you — with a screen reader, with large text, by keyboard, or by voice — message us on WhatsApp or call +251 911 729 779. You do not need to explain what a WCAG guideline is. If we cannot make it work, we will take your order over the phone instead, which is how most of our orders happen anyway.
